Trying to delete an app, a long press brings up ‘edit home screen’ options but the menu disappears within seconds.

Thank you - eventually solved the problem by replacing the hmti cable - strange as all the other ATV functions were working but for an occasional screen flicker which made me suspicious.

On tvOS 18.x, a long-press on a highlighted app tile should bring a pop-up menu. You can let go of pressing the button when that pops up, and the pop-up should then stay, waiting for further action (Menu or Back to cancel, Up or Down to select one of the options). It would not disappear by itself. The pop-up menu should present two or three options. ① Edit Home Screen would be highlighted by default. This is for moving the app tile around. ② Move To … allows to choose an app folder as destination. ③ Lastly, Delete would offer to remove (or offload) the app tile, with extra confirmation. This last option would not be available for many of Apple’s own apps that are protected against deletion.
