Google Chrome too slow opening tabs on MacBook Air and fan spinning on laptop

Opening new tabs in Google Chrome is too slow. Taking too long and pausing too much.
I restarted the computer and it changed nothing.
the fan inside my computer you can hear is spinning and working hard.
what do I do?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

Use something else.

Installing Google on a Mac effectively renders it a full time information-harvesting and -uploading "bot" to serve Google's needs.

There is never any need for anyone to use Chrome. It is well-known resource hog on any platform, and serves primarily as Google's Trojan horse so that they can infiltrate your Mac. If you are required to use Google, buy a Chromebook.

This is totally not helpful, but thanks for trying.

I use Google Gmail and Drive for work regardless of having a Mac!
