In Photos, you can select a picture, or several, and choose the menu File>Share to get these choices:

You can also control-click (or right-click) on a picture to pull up a menu that has Share on it. These Share options will open an new email with the pictures, and you can add an address and text.

You can also select a picture, use ⌘-c to copy the image, and then past it into an email that you've already started. This is usually the way I do it. In either case, you will be given a choice about how large you want the picture to be. Personal information, like location and date taken will be removed from the picture, but you could include that information in the text of the email.

Oops-- I intended to add this, but I missed the deadline:

For reduced size pictures, personal information, like location and date taken may be removed from the picture, but you could include that information in the text of the email. If you send the full sized image, I think(!,) then the personal info will be included. Many email systems will balk at sending large files.
