Weather App Crahes on MacBook Pro

Hey,

I am using macOS Ventura 13.7.2 with the system Weather App 3.3.1 (359.4). Each time I want to collapse the map that I enlarged for better viewing, the app crashes. How can this be helped?

Due to me not being a coding expert, I can’t give you exact tips, though I could think of some things and research a bit.

The "Illegal Instruction: 4" error typically means that the application you're running is trying to use a feature or instruction that isn't supported by the version of macOS you're using.

In simpler terms, the app is trying to do something that your current macOS version doesn't understand how to handle. This can be due to:

  • Outdated Software: The app might be using newer system calls or instructions not available in your current macOS version.
  • Corrupted Binary: The app's binary might be corrupted or improperly compiled.

Maybe restart your Mac in case it is a temporary issue, make sure there are no updates for MacOS or the Weather App, and reach out to apple support to let them know?

Thanks for the response! I think the issue might be related to one of these two things mentioned:

1. Outdated Software: The app might be trying to use newer system calls or instructions that my macOS version doesn't support.
2. Corrupted Binary: The app’s binary could be corrupted or not compiled properly, which might be causing the error.

I’ve already tried restarting my Mac and checking for any updates for macOS or the Weather app, but the issue is still happening. It doesn’t seem like a temporary glitch.

Anyway, I found a way to get the map collapsed again by resetting the identifier and restarting the app. After that, the map stays collapsed, but if I expand it again, the same issue happens when I try to collapse it.
