I just bought an iPhone from a retail store in the US.
All I got was an email receipt. They say they are unable to provide an invoice with my personal information on it.
I called the Apple help, they said they cannot access my purchase.
So no way for me to get an invoice, which in practice, shouldn't be hard to get. How can I get it ?

The serial number is available, but my name and address are not shown on the receipt. I asked them to put this information on it, they said they couldn't.

Just a suggestion:
Return it for a refund, then purchase it again (online) for an in-store pickup.
I cannot unfortunately, as I’m back to my home country. There should be a way to ! I mean, I’m sure I’m not the only one in this case
Will your company accept the store manager’s business card with your name, address etc on the back of their card and stapled to a copy of the receipt?
They can sign it too.
