How can I quickly find photos in Photos app?

As Old Toad suggests, using the Search field can work pretty well-- Photos recognizes all sorts of categories like cat or church or monument, and that can help. (I'm not likely to remember the filename!)

There are three other things that I sometimes do:

1. Just drag the picture from Photos to the email or text. By far the most common thing I do! But some web pages don't allow this.
2. Export my selected pictures to a folder in Finder. This way I can control the size of the picture and the included data like date and location.
3. Add a keyword to my selected pictures in Photos, like HereTheyAre, and then use the Search field to find the HereTheyAre pictures for uploading.

Maybe one of these things will help…

Do you know the file name of the photo? If you do you can enter it in the Search field in the upper right hand corner of Photos' window.

Or you can use a smart album configured like this:

I prefer the Smart Album method as it's more flexible and accurate.

All photos must have file names. The Title field will display the file name faintly if there's no Title. It will still work. Or you can use these AppleScripts to enter the file name into the Title field:

I compile the scrip in Script Editor and save as an application. Then select the files I want to add the file name to and run the app.
