HDMI cable longer than 2-3 Metres

When using a long HDMI CABLE, connected from AV receiver say to a tv or projector. Especially using Apple TV, you may get no signal or no Dolby Atmos. Use a HDMI REPEATER. This will fix the issue

No atmos even no 5.1 sound working, only stereo on apple tv app on android google tv Tcl p725 tv on android 11, apple tv app version 14.0.1 (latest version). Tv audio is set to passthrough, its connected to samsung q990b soundbar via hdmi cable on arc at both ends. No 5.1 or atmos sound getting to soundbar from movies or trailers on apple tv app, only stereo available. Prime video app, apple tv on windows machine, local media files are ok with atmos and 5.1 thus there is no problem or compatibility issues with tv and soundbar. Looks like, for some reason apple tv app on google tv cant handle surround sounds, even bare minimum 5.1.. Atv app is up to date, resetting it didnt help. There is not any option to change audio settings on the app at all. Itunes app on windows for instance has an option to enable audio passthrough which does exactly what is needed, passing dolby surround to output device. This is a serious problem yet its a basic feature every app/device normally provides. Dont know if there is a workaround other than waiting for apple team to update apple tv app on android/google tv?

Apple TV 4k HDMI handshake and Dolby Vision I have an Apple TV 4K connected to a Denon receiver with a UltraHD certified HDMI cable and then connected to an LG CX OLED 65 also with a UltraHD certified HDMI cable. a few months ago, I started having problems where powering up, the AppleTV would take up to 30 seconds to complete an HDMI HDR handshake so the screen would be blank for that time. Now it can take up to 60 seconds or it never displays any picture. I replaced the HDMI cables and also tested on other devices like an UltraHD Blu-Ray player with HDR and there are no issues with that device. Picture and HDR display is instant with any other device except for Apple TV. There is something wrong with the AppleTV. The only option is to restart it every single time, but it should not function like this. Even when I can get it to display it takes 30 seconds to do so! Dolby Vision seems to be part of the problem.

Another option is fiber-optic HDMI, but that’s kinda expensive.

Thank you. I will look into that. Appreciate the information. Because when I was having issues, the Sky technician said, I have to use short HDMI cables. But, the projector was 10 metres away.
