2018 iPad Pro 11 won’t work with Verizon sim after switching from ATT

posting this for my mother

She originally purchased this iPad from Verizon with cellular around 2018. She moved to ATT around 2020 and then most recently went back to Verizon a few days ago.

She is unable to get the new Verizon SIM card to work, she’s been on with Verizon’s support, went to a physical location, they’ve tried 3 SIM cards and haven’t been able to get it going. They don’t know what’s up and they believe it’s something with device.

Anybody run into this? Software issue? Would it be beneficial to go to the Apple Store

iPad, iPadOS 18

Well, if your mother and Verizon are sure that the device is no longer locked to the previous carrier (ATT), I suggest that she makes an appointment (*) and have her iPad+new SIM card inspected at an Apple Store or AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) among this list:--> https://locate.apple.com/choose-country-region . After checking it out, they'll give her all the available options.

Regards

Giulio
