Saved Apple ID Password Errors

I was first alerted to this problem when the passwords for ?Apple ID that I knew were correct were being rejected leading to a long chain of changed passwords ...I was running out of systemitised, memorable complex passwords and frankly getting annoyed by it. So having set what I would like to be my ultimate versiion last night I che cked in the Password section of System Settings for my Apple ID expecting to see my 'ultimate version but what I saw was a version I set several days ago. So what is going on?!! If the system is not properly saving the latest version we will be perpetually sent on a wild goose chase. surely in our 'blockchain' world this should not be happening. I've been saved on a day to day basis by biometric options [six digit texed OTPs regularly fail] ?Does anybody in this community hsve the knowledge to suggest what might be going wrong? secondary authentication is oiling the machine but aldo sanitising and obscuring a deep seated problem.
