BMW turns my ringer volume to minimum

Are you connecting your phone to your car via Bluetooth or Apple CarPlay? If yes to either, typically when connected to the car system you either change the volume via Settings in your Infotainment System or using the volume control in your steering wheel.

I'd have to believe it's something in your BMW. I have a 2025 Mazda CX70 and the volume for both Bluetooth and CarPlay are managed via the settings in my Infotainment System. Once set, it is remembered and doesn't change.

Which volume are you referring to, the ringer or the sound to hear the caller once you have connected? I know that in my Mercedes, there are settings in the phone settings for Bluetooth that let you set the default settings for both of those volumes when the phone is connected. Then they stay that way the next time you connect. As lobsterghost1 said in their reply, after that, your volume controls in the infotainment system should control the volume from there.
