Character Map for Font Designs

Does mac have a 'character map' like windows? Windows character map is called Character Map UWP. Or is there something similar to character map where I can view all the font designs? I have a MacBook Pro using Sonoma 14.6.1

Viewing my Fonts at a glance?? So what software/program do you all use to view your font styles "at a glance"? I use the built in Font book but I have to go line by line to see what they actually look like. I am looking for something like what I see in Cricut (see image below). BUT I don't want to have to open Cricut > insert a line > and go to change the font to be able to see them. Caveat, my Mac is a late 2013 and running Catalina. Thank you all!

How does font management work on a Mac? On Windows 11, I have a simple font manager that simply activates and deactivates collections of fonts as I need them for each job. This is a pretty easy way of managing fonts that I only occasionally need without clogging up the system with hundreds of extra fonts. How do I manage something like this on Mac OS? So far, all the font videos on YouTube simply just install all the fonts they want into the fonts folder and Font Book simply displays them nicely. Surely there must be some way to turn on and off groups of fonts without adding them to the fonts folder? Can anyone help please?

Depending on what exactly you want to see, there is Font Book, and various 3rd party alternatives for that

There is the Character Viewer built-in to macOS, but I find that ridiculously clumsy to use.

I always use, and highly recommend Ultra Character Map.
