Thank you very much again. I solved it without having to convert on my W PC. The VLC app on iPhone WILL find the .WMV (or .WAV? forgetting) file on the USB flash stick by selecting "Network" from the menu at the bottom instead of Video, Audio, or Playlists, then "Local files". It will show the .WMV on the flash USB where the user can Open it without adding to a Playlist or copying it. VLC will play it without any indication/hint/mention of having to convert.

Thank you. Agree VLC is a great product and I already downloaded it to my iPhone, however it doesn’t see the .WMV file and can only find media in a Media Library. VLC thinks my Media Library is empty. The .WMV file is on a USB flash drive that IS visible in iPhone FILES. For sure I can run MP4s from the USB flash on my iPhone. In FILES, double clicking on the .WMV files does absolutely nothing. Still stuck.
