Alternate iPad Setup with non-working touchscreen, with Smart Cover or Mac

Hello,

I got an iPad Pro whose touchscreen is no longer functional. Restoring and updating via a Mac were not enough to solve the problem. I am therefore trying to configure the device with a Smart Cover with keyboard, in order to eventually use it with a Magic Mouse.

However, during the configuration phase, I cannot navigate the menus to advance in the process, using only the keys. The most frustrating thing is that I can access a list offering me accessibility options that could perhaps give full power to the keyboard, but I cannot navigate within this menu.

Therefore, are there key combinations that would allow me to advance in the configuration until I have a functional iPad? Maybe another option for a full setup from a Mac ?

Thank you in advance for your help, which would help me have something other than a thin brick in my hands!

While it is possible to use an iPad using a compatible external keyboard, trackpad or mouse, the iPad's touch screen must be fully operable to complete initial setup.

If the touch screen is damaged, has a fault or is otherwise inoperable, you are very unlikely to be able to use the iPad. At best, sooner or later you will encounter a situation from which you cannot recover.
