There's no real reason not to. If you do not, you will need to ultimately as more and more apps start not being updated for anything less than iOS 17.

If you are asking us to guess......my guess would be "yes"......but, I may be wrong.

After all, if you look around on this site, you can see countless pages of posts from users who are having problems after downloading iOS 18. (Of course, users who are not having problems don't post here.)

Most iOS 18 issues are related to accelerated battery depletion and sluggish on screen operation.

My advice......make an appointment at the Apple Store or take the phone to an authorized Apple service shop to let them check and test the phone. You could have them download and install the new iOS 18 software, so if there are problems........the phone is already at the shop.
