I HAVE A MACBOOK AIR suddenly the usable screen has shrunk so I cannot see all my bookmarks for example. I've turned it off but was the same when I came back on.

Please advise

Since we can't see your screen your description of the problem needs to be precise. Do you mean you've zoom in and magnified part of the screen so parts are no longer visible? Or has the screen resolution gotten changed? Those are 2 problems that come to my mind but there may be more. If it is a zoom problem look in the menu bar for zoom and zoom out. If it is screen resolution look in System Settings for Display and switch resolutions.
