battery health iphone 14 pro

So i’ve had my iPhone 14 pro since November 2022. The battery health as of January 2025 is 88% after 440 charge cycles. I have been cognizant of how i use my phone and its charging patterns. After 2 years; is this battery health level in line with apple’s guidelines for battery health deterioration?

(Note; all the settings that drain the battery like background app refresh and AOD have been turned off since i got the phone)

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 18

Your battery is doing well.

Read this support article about iPhone battery and performance to learn about the battery health feature and what is considered normal performance --> iPhone battery and performance - Apple Support

To see the feature go to: Settings > Battery > Battery Health

"A normal battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 500 complete charge cycles when operating under normal conditions. The one-year warranty includes service coverage for a defective battery. If it is out of warranty, Apple offers battery service for a charge." A degraded battery may display the notice: "Your battery’s health is significantly degraded. An Apple Authorized Service Provider can replace the battery to restore full performance and capacity."

According to the above quoted information, you could be losing almost 2% per month the entire first year before Apple would deem this to merit a warranty replacement.

As a good general guide, expect the battery to decline 1% for every 25 charge cycles, so 440 cycles divided by 25 = 17.6%

100% minus 17% or 18% = 83% or 82% rounded off, so your battery now at 88% is doing significantly better than average.

Actually, your battery might be as high as 88.9%, but Apple always rounds down the number, so this would display as 88%
