copying vinyl into iTunes

I have just purchased a Sony PSLX310BT.CEK bluetooth turntable to play our cherished old records through my Bose Soundbar which sounds amazing! However, I would also like to get them in iTunes on my 2015 MacBook pro running macOS Monterey. The turntable has a line-out setting and an internal pre-amp with standard RCA phono connectors. Has anyone had experience of the best RCA-USB connector to use and do I need to use something like Audacity to convert the data into something that iTunes will recognise?

Any advice will be much appreciated.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.7

I use a Bheringer UCA222. I've had it a long time and it's probably been superseded by now. It works fine and I've ripped most of my vinyl with it. I use Audacity which is great. Put a bookmark at the start of the tracks with the track name an it will track split for you when saving. The UCA222 is fully automatic, which means you have no control over the recording settings, but for very quiet albums you can add gain with Audacity if it bugs you.

If you have a lot of 12" singles then you might want to find something that lets you set the recording levels because these can have a higher volume than standard LPs and the UCA222 might not cope with them. Ditto if you splash out on specialist classical pressings with high dynamic range. This has only caused me a slight problem with one track on one album in a collection of over 500 LPs, so I wouldn't sweat it if you just have a bunch of normal LPs.
