Can't remove PayPal's scammy Honey extension from iPhone

PayPal appears to have forced its Honey extension onto my Apple iPhone during an update (of PayPal; I have never used or agreed to use Honey). No attempts to remove it are successful.

How does Apple recommend we remove unwanted extensions from our phones? Even uninstalling the primary app (the vendor's recommendation) does not work. Why is this permitted exactly? Thanks.

iPhone 12 mini, iOS 17

I am guessing here:

Settings > Apps > Safari > Extensions > Honey > Allow Extension > DISABLED

Unless you use PayPal very frequently, you may want to consider deleting the app from you iPhone (which will also remove the extension). There is no need to have the app on your phone to use PayPal. Without the app, the experience is different, but still usable. When checking out using PayPal, you would simply be required to enter your PayPal username, password, and 2FA code.

The fewer apps that you have on your iPhone the better.
