Apple released two 13" MacBook Pros in 2012. Which do you have? The non-Retina model or the Retina one?

The Retina one has 8 GB of soldered-in RAM. You cannot add more. It has no drive bays, but you can purchase compatible SSD "circuit board" upgrades from Other World Computing.

The non-Retina one has two SO-DIMM slots. The official limit is 8 GB of RAM (2 x 4 GB), but it can actually take 16 GB (2 x 8 GB). It has internal drive bays, but no internal SSD "circuit board" slots.

Upgrading Mac Hareware:

More recent Macs' internal hardware cannot be upgraded. It is all soldered into the Mac, allowing it to operate as one device. As for a 2012 model, it may or may not be an option, depending on its maximum capability. So, what's the model number? You'll have to research the specs of the Mac, seeing what it is cable of being upgraded to. So, find the model number, and do a bit of research.
