Question about vat refund and international warrenty

Hello guys currently in hanoi vietnam I just bought a new iPhone from shopdunk and they gave me a vat refund receipt and have been told that I can't open the phone until I reach for the customs and get the refund

Thing is I'm gonna leave here next week and I'd really like to check that everything is okay with the phone ik apple is trustable but with electronics everything is possible So I need a suggestion should I open it? Should I keep it sealed? If so, can I use the warrenty in my country?

I have seen some discussions about this stuff and the guys from shop dunk told me I have a international warrenty if I have something wrong with it but I really would like to not mess with it I think it will be a headache

Thanks in advance!

I know very little as to how that affects the VAT refund and will defer to other community members. In regard to warranty coverage, you have a warranty in the country or region of intended purchase. Warranty service in other countries or regions may be limited.

The return of a product is limited by the merchant’s return policy. If the merchant does not accept the return, your device is subject to Apples warranty.

What is the model number for your iPhone? For example, here’s the model numbers and intended markets.

Model Number: A3081 (United States, Puerto Rico), A3286, (Bahrain, Canada, Iraq, Guam, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Mexico, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, U.S. Virgin Islands), A3288 (China mainland, Hong Kong, Macao), A3287 (other countries and regions)
