Will Apple ever bring back the original Apple ringtones to text messages?

I used several of the Apple ringtones as text messages. One of them being my husband. I have used the same text sound for him since like 2012 when this tone came out. I accidentally changed the tone this year and now I can't get it back. This is such a frustrating change and I keep really hoping Apple will give us the ability to use ringtones as texts again at some point. Is anyone else still frustrated by this or am I alone here?

Hard to say what Apple may or may not do, but this is a user to user support forum and Apple does not participate here, so if you would like Apple to know that would like to see the tones back, use this feedback link. Feedback - iPhone - Apple While Apple does not personally reply to feedback, they do read it all. This is the only way to get their attention.

The original ringtone was called Marimba IIRC, and that’s still around.

Which one you’re referring to from ~2012, I don’t know.

Marimba and other older ringtones are under in Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Ringtones > Classics > [choices]

There is an archive of ringtones here, as well: https://archive.org/details/ios-17-iphone-ringtones

There are zillions of ringtones available around the ‘net, of course.

Download the tone from the site MrHoffman linked to, then see:

From what I read on the archive site, you should just have to change the extension to .m4r and not have to bother with conversion.

Thanks, I'm looking to set the motorcycle ringtone as a text tone for a contact. I see the archived version there but not sure how to set it as a text tone for a contact. I'm using another text tone I just don't like it and after almost 14 years with the same text tone for the same contact it's hard to get used to. I'm not sure why apple got rid of the ability to do this.
