Hello, AnchisaCh!

Try copying the png from the Photos app and pasting it in an app like Freeform, Keynote, PowerPoint, or some other design app. Does it still have a background?

  • If not, then Photos might display it with a background just for visual clarity.
  • If so, then try copying the original png and pasting it into one of the design apps or sending it to yourself. You can save it from there.

I hope this helps!

Photos uses a white background when displaying a backgroundless image. It's been like that for a while now. Here's a screenshot of one from my Photos library:

Here it is on my black Desktop:

Png and gif files can have transparent backgrounds. Put the image in a dark background environment and you'll see the background show thru. Pages would be a good way to prove that it's transparent. You can put a black background in Pages first and then the photo on top of it.

My avatar below is also a transparent background image.

某些png图片从网页上下载到“文件”APP时,背景是透明的(验证方式是通过在手机上打开深色模式,发现没有白底),然后从“文件”APP存储到“照片”APP时,白底出现了(验证方式是通过在手机上打开深色模式,发现出现白底);
