HP printer only prints in black and white when printing on WiFi

Hello,

I just bought a new HP printer and my MacBook only prints in black and white when printing on WiFi. When I connect it with a usb cable color printing works fine.

Also when on WiFi the color preset option disappears…

I am on Ventura 13.7.2 and my printer is an HP Smart Tank 580.

Anyone knows how to fix this ?

When printing by wireless, your Mac is using AirPrint with this printer. On the other hand, when this printer is connected directly by USB, AirPrint is bypassed and printing is now via macOS.

So, it appears the issue is the printer's configuration for AirPlay that needs to be resolved. Have you tried any of the following:

Factory resetting the printer?
Removing, and then, re-adding this printer back in macOS?
Creating another user account on your Mac, logging in with that account, and then, see if this issue still exists?
Booting up your Mac in Safe Mode to see if that helps?
Contacting HP Support for assistance?
