Is the new Siri remote compatable with Apple TV model MGY52LL/A?

I lost the remote for this Apple TV and purchased a new Siri remote. It is not pairing. When I press the up volume and back button, I see a message that says to bring the remote close to the Apple TV. I put it right next to i and repeat the process, but nothing happens.

Apple TV HD, tvOS 14

That model number corresponds to a 4th Generation / HD Apple TV, so yes, it should be compatible with the new Silver Siri Remote.

Try unplugging the Apple TV waiting 5 to 10 seconds, then plugging it in again, and try to pair the remote again.

Also try restarting your Siri Remote too, by holding down the Control Center and Volume - buttons.

I have not used this Apple TV in some time so its TVOS version is probably a bit behind

Siri Remote (2nd generation) [Lightning charging port] requires tvOS 14.5 or later.

Siri Remote (3rd generation) [USB-C charging port] requires tvOS 15.4 or later.

Try using the software remote on iPhone or iPad, if you have one of those, to do the needed updates first.

Else try restoring and updating through a USB-connected computer.

If you know someone with a black Siri Remote or old style Apple Remote (aluminum) A1294, then see if you can borrow that for a bit to do these updates.

Else contact Apple about not being able to do the updates. They may refer you to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for further assistance.
