Slow app performance and potential security concerns after iPhone update

Lotta apps will not open run slow as crazy. I’m worried about having a virus and somebody stealing my information.

Post iOS 16.5.1 (c) (20F770750d) inoperative apps? With the unfortunate security response update for iOS 16.5.1 (c) (20F770750d) two days ago, I was no longer able to access the majority of my apps - which are basic ones such as the App Store. Before moving any further, which I had to double-check for myself, be certain your VPN is not the actual problem on your device. The settings there may be the culprit for the issues encountered.

It's highly unlikely that your iPhone has malware unless you have jailbroken it. Have you tried just restarting your iPhone? If so and that hasn't helped, I'd suggest restoring it and then see how things behave.
