Airdropped videos disappeared from IPad Air 4 camera roll

A few days ago, I airdropped a few videos from my iPhone to my iPad and they sent without trouble. They appeared in the Recently Saved folder in the photos app. However a day later all of the videos disappeared. I’ve checked just about every folder including recently deleted and hidden sections and I cannot find them anywhere. I don’t think it is a storage issue because my iPad has 100+ GB left of storage and plenty of other photos and videos have saved afterwards without trouble. My iPad also has the most recent update. I deleted the original videos off my iPhone in efforts to save space on there, as the videos were originally chat attachments from iMessage, so I would appreciate if someone could assist me with this. Thanks!!

Sorry to be so long getting back to you. I didn't see your reply.

If you have both devices connected to iCloud Photos with the same Apple Account, then they should have been kept in synchronization (the function of iCloud Photos). That means two things:

  1. You should not have needed to AirDrop the videos, as they would have propagated from the iPhone to the iPad (eventually).
  2. When you deleted the videos from the iPad, the deletion propagated to the iPhone.

If it has been less that 30 days, you should be able to recover the videos from your Recently Deleted folder (on either device) unless you deleted them there also.
