How can I make sure that my iPhone 15 Pro only opens with Face ID?

Hi,

I use 15 pro and it running ios 18.2. The problem was there also in previous revisions of the ios.

Now, lock the screen and put the phone on a table, flat, so it cannot see your face.

Then tap the screen to turn on the screen, but it cannot see your face so it is locked.

Click on the alarm under the watch and it goes to alarm settings, then you can tab between stopwatch, timer etc. okay.

Now let's do this like this. Phone on the table again, cannot see your face. swipe from top and open the menu where you can set wifi, flash etc. and all the short cuts you set there. If you have an alarm or stopwatch etc there it does not open it and asking for face id.

Same thing, 2 different place.

But what annoys me is that, clicking on alarm on the lock screen opens without faceid. Why? Because whenever I take the phone out of my pocket, I see alarm is opened, deleted, new alarm is set, stopwatch is running.

Moreover, sometimes, some apps are opened like youtube, and the phone is still locked because I tried, catching these moments without showing my face, app is opened, I can use the app and the phone is still locked asking for face id to unlock (when trying to swipe from bottom up) ?

Will that open my bank app someday without faceid?

How can I make sure, that this phone does not open anything from lock screen, without seeing my face? I am tired of this "accidental" touches.

Yes, they do that.

yes, as I mentioned, I find youtube etc some apps opened while the screen is locked, it is like the background is the opened app, but the locked like a curtain in front asking face id.

Most likely because of the Now Playing Widget in Control Center. If Control Center is not accessible in from the Lock Screen, that won't be a problem.

Also, go to Settings>Face ID and password and turn off everything under "Allow Access When Locked".

Did you also do as I suggested and turn off Raise to Wake?

That's a widget. Yes, certain things can be accessed through the widget even if the phone is locked.

Things in the Control Center can be accessed while the phone is locked. You can disable Control Center while locked in Settings>Control Center..

But what annoys me is that, clicking on alarm on the lock screen opens without faceid. Why? Because whenever I take the phone out of my pocket, I see alarm is opened, deleted, new alarm is set, stopwatch is running.

It only opens the clock. It doesn't unlock the phone or give you access to anything else.

No.

As noted above, turn off Control Center access from the lock screen. Also, go to Settings>Display & Brightness>Raise to Wake and turn that off.

Thanks for the answer but your answer is reverse, so it does not help.

I dont have problem with control center, because it is asking face id, so no accidental opening.

I do not want widget opening without face id, because the phone is weak in preventing accidental touches, in the pocket etc.

No, for me it is reverse, control center shortcuts require face id while phone is locked, which is good.

No.

As mentioned, I dont have control center problem, I gave that as an example, I need widgets asking face id from lock screen, or a better behavior from ios to prevent accidental touches.

I used other phones with oled screen for 15 years+ never had problems like this accidental touches.
