Airpod Max Battery Broken

Dear Support and community,

My Airpod Max battery has broken down around 1-1.5 years after purchase (Jun-2023). Just out of the standard warranty period. The apple repair shop confirmed it is better to purchase a new pair, instead of replacing the battery, due to the cost of replacement.

Bottom line is the Airpod Max has been broken within 1-1.5 years after purchase and a new item is to be purchased. Being a good customer of Apple products over the last years, I'm considering to move away to alternative brands, due to quality issues of the apple products.

Appreciate any solutions, before I move away from Apple products.

Many thanks!

OK. So, how exactly would you define “broken”?

B. Try the Following Tasks:

  • Hold Down the Button on the case for about 15 seconds.

  • Use an Apple Brand Cable - not a third party one - cool though it may look, a fabric, third-part cable would likely tear - (Apple cable's are plastic and are intended for Apple)

  • Remove the AirPod from the Case, then place it back in the charger. Perhaps it need to resync with he charger.

You are welcome.

It may be time for a new pair. So, take this as a good reason to upgrade to a new mode; if the following does not work, then I would….

Dear TheLittles,

Many thanks for your swift reply and references.

The Airpod Max no longer connect through bluetooth to any external device e.g. Apple iPhone. After having went through a large number of on-line help articles e.g. resets, other devices, restarts etc. We have brought the Airport Max's to an Apple authorized repair shop, who have diagnosed both batteries (left and right) to be broken.

When the Airpod max is plugged in, a green light appears. When taking the cable out, the light disappears.

No further technical details have been provided by the Apple authorized repair shop.

Appreciate your thoughts.
