iPhone 14 Pro Max Froze – Anyone Experienced This?

Hey everyone, I’m feeling a bit stuck and thought I’d ask the community here for advice.

Last night, my iPhone 14 Pro Max completely froze and wouldn’t wake up. It’s so strange because there’s been no drops, no water damage, or anything unusual – it just stopped working overnight.

I took it to Apple today, and they told me the motherboard needs to be repaired, and it’s going to cost $1.1K USD to fix. Honestly, that’s such a huge amount that it feels like I’m being told to just throw the phone away and get a new one. 😅

I’m curious – has this happened to anyone else? It feels weird for something like this to happen out of nowhere, especially for a relatively new and well-cared-for phone.

Would really appreciate hearing about similar experiences or advice on how to handle this! Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts. 😊

To pay $1,100 US dollars to repair your iPhone is a lot of money, at that point you would be better off buying a new iPhone. But please try a Force Restart as that is the fix to most software issues.

  • Press and quickly release the volume up button.
  • Press and quickly release the volume down button.
  • Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo

tried it too, apple staff tried to diagnose but according to them, its a motherboard issue. Just find it weird my friend with her iphone 15 pro. same thing happened- no drop, no water, just couldnt wake up the next day. Read some community forums and some mentioned it could be an auto update bug

It’s very unlikely that an update caused this issue as updates are supposed to provide the latest bug fixes. Well if Apple said it’s a motherboard issue, then there’s your answer. If you were to pay for the cost of repair, it would be nearly the same amount as a brand new iPhone 16 Pro Max. I own one and personally love it, you are probably better off buying a new iPhone.
