Exercise goal is not updating daily after iOS 18 update

Since updating to iOS 18, I am able to adjust daily exercise goals in apple fitness. The settings save an are present if I re-enter the adjustment screen. Th problem is that the daily goal does not match what I’ve set each morning. The goal remains the same each day on my iPhone or Apple Watch and corresponds to whatever was set in the last daily over-ride.

I have an iPhone 14Pro and pair of 5th gen watches (one cellular/gps and one just gps)

Phone iOS is 18.11 and watch iOS is 10.6.1

This is a great new feature that is currently both vexing and disappointing.

Hi there, having different daily goals based on the day of the week is a feature introduced in iOS 18 / watchOS 11. Unfortunately, if your watch is only able to update to watchOS 10, then it will not recognise the different goals that you set up on your iPhone.

watchOS 10.6.1 is the latest version for the Series 5, the hardware does not support watchOS 11.

But keep in mind, that newly sold watches will always be upgraded to the latest watchOS possible, even if older watchOS version had been installed at the time when Apple first released them.
