iPad Pro 12.9-inch (4th Gen) cover keyboard issues resolved by connecting Apple Magic Keyboard
I’ve noticed that as time went by my Ipad Pro (12.9 inch 4-th generation) keyboard cover is getting less and less reliable. To the point that right now it barely ever gets connected properly and I can type. Sometimes (quite often) I’ve noticed my ipad throwing up “this accessory is not supported” message, sometimes it just silently refuses to operate. I’ve tried the rare Earth magnet solution - and it kind of works… sometimes.. but not everytime.
Now to the CORE: I’ve found out that if I hook up my apple magic keyboard to my ipad via USB-C to lightning cable while the cover keyboard is also connected and is NOT FUNCTIONING, IT STARTS WORKING FINE. I will repeat - connecting external magic keyboard brings the cover keyboard back to life IMMEDIATELY and EVERY TIME.
So that got me thinking that my cover keyboard troubles started after some updates of the Ipad operating system, and that it might be that it is not magnetic stripes/sensors deterioration that is to blame but some software glitchies in the recent iPaD OS (I am now on the all-updated final version as of time of writing).
Otherwise how the **** can hooking up another external keyboard bring the cover keyboard back to life.
To those having issues with old cover-keyboards please try to verify my experience.
I will be waiting for your replies and then if confirmed working we might perhaps go chat with Mr. Apple there =)
