How can I disable Touch ID on my daughter's iPad with parental controls?

Hi, my daughter who is 12 has parental controlled account for her iPad. She has been distressed lately, and I would like to be able to check her text messages to make sure things are not awry (middle school drama) - she seems to have turned on TouchID - there is NO TouchID and Passcode setting in Settings - and in the parent portal where I control settings, there is nothing. Does anyone know what to do?

To disable Touch ID, you can go to Settings on the iPad and enter the “Touch ID and Passwords” section, at which point you’ll have an option to turn Touch ID off.

However, to disable Touch ID via the parental controls, you can enter the “Screen Time” section in the iPads Settings, scroll down to “Content and Privacy Restrictions,” tap it, and scroll down to “Passcode and Touch ID.” Tap it and tap the “Don’t Allow” option. This will inhibit the ability for your child to make changes to the iPad’s Touch ID and Passcode settings.
