Can't Remove old Apple ID Sign-In for iPad

My dad gave me his iPad (6th gen). I signed out from his Apple ID account on the device.

I signed-in successively using my existing Apple ID account.

When I try to update the apps on the iPad or to add new ones, the device wants me to use my dads old account name. How do I remove his old account name permanently from the iPad?

iPad, iPadOS 17

You delete all of the apps that were downloaded using his account (this should have been done before he passed it on to you). You'll then need to re-download them using your Apple ID.
