Second Apple ID for use in a second country

I have a problem downloading a Spanish supermarket app. it doesn’t matter if I’m in my own country UK or in Spain. I do have an account, using the browser, until a few months ago but now can’t access as it. Error says my details are invalid. I am still receiving emails from the supermarket re offers etc.

I want to use the app.

Today it has been suggested I use 2 Apple ID’s. Ie one for each country. But a few years ago someone on this forum said it wasn’t possible as switching meant you had to wait 90 days. I’m not a techie and may well have misunderstood it. Has the situation changed ?

someone suggested purchasing a Spanish sim with a 1 euro monthly tariff ( receives calls only)

might this work?

it’s also been suggested I’m using a uk telephone number which is why I’m unable to down load an app to get to my account.

My situation is very similar to yours. I'm based in the US but often travel to Denmark (and need to download apps that only are available in the Danish app store - at least not available in the US app store). I'm not an expert in this so I'm just going to tell you what I'm doing / how it works for me.

I have two Apple IDs, i.e. registered with Apple in the US using one email address and also registered with Apple in Denmark using a different email address. For both accounts, I use my US cell phone number (for 2-factor authentication) and I have listed the same US credit card as payment method.

On my iPad, iPhone and Macs, I have signed in with my US Apple ID (this is my main service for all the iCloud stuff - backups and sync among devices). Now when I need to download an app from the Danish App Store to my iPhone/iPad then I go to 'Settings' -> 'AppleID (i.e. where you see your name)' -> 'Media & Purchases' to sign out. Then I sign in again (Media & Purchases) to the Danish App Store (i.e. signing in with my secondary Apple ID). I download the app(s) from the Danish Apple App Store I need. And finally I repeat the log out, log in sequence to log back into the US App Store.

I used to see the 90-day warning you mentioned but I don't see it any more. The above method works fine for me to get Denmark specific apps while my other iCloud services remain associated with the services provided via my US Apple ID.

That should work.

That's talking about switching countries on a single Apple ID.

You can have multiple Apple IDs and they can be in different countries. But you'll probably have to have an address and payment details that are valid for each country. Not many people have that. Plus, living with multiple Apple IDs is a royal hassle.

But it is relatively easily to login to a separate account on the App Store, then download the apps from that country. Then log back in to your regular account. In most cases everything will work fine. However, apps are free to use geofencing and other technical means to restrict your usage. I doubt a supermarket app would do that though.
