What should I do if my Facebook data file won't open on MacBook Air?

Following "how to" from TechCrunch (Rebecca Bellan) to download all data/photos etc. prior to deleting my account. Attempting to download 1.6G of data. Two formats were offered HTML and JSON. I chose HTML. Activity monitor indicates 1.6G was received. Cannot get the file to open. Popup says zip file is in an unsupported format.

Ideas?

Sounds like the zip file that was downloaded from Facebook is corrupted. There have been other reports as well where the downloaded Facebook data is corrupted. Try downloading the file again and make sure the file has been completely downloaded before attempting to open.
