Magic mouse USBC won’t pair with macbook air

I just bought a new magic mouse with usb C cable. i need to run it on macbook air 2014 with BigSur 11.7.10, which has only usbA slots. i tried an adapter cable but can‘t pair. mouse is charged and was turned on. Help!

Logitech USB Mouse Not Connecting to MacBook Air I have a Logitech K270 wireless keyboard and M310 wireless mouse. Both have worked fine with my M2 Mini. I recently tried using both devices on my M3 MB Air via USB dongle, and the keyboard seems to work fine just after simply plugging in the USB dongle, however the mouse will not register any movement on my screen. I don't think it's an issue with the dongle since the keyboard works, but for some reason the mouse won't work at all. I tried different USB ports, different USB C to A converters, and new batteries on the mouse, but nothing has worked. Is this a software issue with Sequoia 15.5? Any help is greatly appreciated!

The new USB-C Magic Mouse requires macOS Sequoia 15.1 or newer to be fully functional ... so, even if you have an adapter, it will not work correctly.
