Have you been using this printer with an older Mac? If so, which Mac operating system version?
As samtenor mentioned, the last supported macOS version is 10.15 Catalina.
Some Brother models have been known to work with a few following macOS versions using the Catalina printer driver, but whether that possibly could be a solution in this case is another matter.
Add a printer to your printer list so you can use it on Mac – Apple Support (UK)
Unfortunately, the specifications do not indicate PCL support for the HL-2130, which makes it more difficult to find a generic driver.

However, Linux is supported.
If nothing else helps, and if you do no mind carrying out a few experiments, it may be worth investigating whether an inexpensive Linux-based Raspberry Pi print server connected to the USB port of the HL-2130 would work. For example, take a look at the replies by Techguyuk in Can’t print with iPadOS17 - Apple Community. The idea is to make the printer act as if it were a real networked AirPrint model. That is, connecting to a Wi-Fi router, and allowing printing from a modern Mac without the need for additional drivers. And/or from an iPhone/iPad without a special app.

According to Brother official website, it is NOT support since MacOS 11.
However, some people might get lucky with some generic driver.
You have to do some legwork on Google..
Another way worth of try: Brother iPrint&Scan (can download from App Store) - to bypass the "driver" conundrum.
