How can I completely remove Shazam app from my iPhone?

Shazam is suddenly indicating "technical difficulties" when tapped to Shazam - including the following directions - "Please restart the app and we'll make sure we're ready for the next song."

However, that action yields no fix. Additionally, deleting the App from my screen is ineffective, as there is no way I have found to entirely remove the App from my iPhone 13. The App is apparently "burned" into the iPhone

Both phone and App ere up to date.

Apple is now working on this issue, and I should have an answer on Tuesday. They affirmed that this is an issue for Apple as others have reported this problem to them. Additionally, they confirmed the Shazam App is "burned" into the iPhone and cannot be "deleted" from the phone. Let's see what solution they provide and hopefully all the others who are having the same "Technical "Difficulties" will be then able to use Shazam as intended.

Same - I have done everything - even the "turn off bold type" fix mentioned over a year ago. So annoying. For now, the only workaround I have been using is going to the shazam website through safari...My bet is that Apple is going to start charging for Shazam and this is the "welcome to the new world" via Apple.

BTW, my Shazam is version 18.6.0

Then you don't have the latest version of Shazam. The latest version is 18.7

I hadn't tried to delete it and it turns out you can. Press and hold the app. When the dialog box appears, press remove, which will give you the option to delete it. Tap delete. Then open the App Store and look for Shazam. You'll see it with a cloud icon next to it. Tap the cloud and it will download to your phone, only you'll get the newest most updated version.

You're welcome. To my knowledge, Shazam is built into iOS and isn't removable. When you do iOS updates, Shazam updates as part of the update. Since you are on iOS 18.3, you have the latest iOS version.

Have you tried a Forced Restart? If not give this a try --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support (CA)

Note, for the last step, which is to press and hold the side power button, keep it depressed until you see the Apple Logo. It can several seconds for it appear. DON'T let go until you see it.

I now have 18.7 - and Technical Difficulties still remain. I have "deleted" Shazam from my screen and returned it to my screen with the cloud icon. However, I can't remove Shazam from my iPhone, like i said previously. If I had, the App Store would have suggested "GET" instead of the cloud icon, which simply puts the app back on my screen. Shazam had worked so well over the years without trouble...

lindymck2 - mine is not working - it only worked momentarily. Apple called me yesterday and said they were still working on this issue and hoped their Tech Service would have a solution in the near future. They also indicated that there are many reporting this issue. Help is on its way.

How about that! Mine is working now, as well. Over 800 people have looked at our conversations, as well as many others who raised the same issue with Apple. I have to say thanks to Apple for the work they did and the availability to discuss the issue and their progress with me over the last couple of weeks. Cheers
