First generation iPad Pro (MTXU2LL/A) compatible with new smart folio cover?

I have a first generation iPad Pro (MTXU2LL/A) I bought in 2018. I just purchased a new smart folio cover for it (2/2025) which appears identical to the old one. However, the auto on/off function does not work when I open & close the new cover. Did they move the magnet location?

I also don’t believe the magnet in the case is the issue because it still attracts and attaches to my ipad whenever i close/open the case.

IPad Air 10th generation Smart Folio Issue I have a brand new iPad Air 10th generation and the iPad Air 10th generation Apple Smart Folio case, both ordered from the website. Unfortunately the Smart Folio case did not work with the iPad. The device slid around on the case, often skewing to one side. The magnetic face cover did not put the iPad Air 10 to sleep. It’s as if the magnets in the case were not strong enough to hold the iPad or turn it off. I spoke with Customer Service but all they offered was a return option. I returned the case but I am disappointed that this is the only case that Apple offers for their newest iPad Air. I am left without any protection for the device. Has anyone had the same experience?

Auto lock/ unlock feature missing from ipad a16 in the display and brightness settings I recently purchased ipad a16, the auto lock/unlock feature is missing from the display and brightness settings. Contacted the customer service, first they said it's a glitch and after resetting and restoring the feature will show. But it didn't work. I even sent them video of a friend who has the same model as me and has that feature in her ipad. They collected logs and now they are telling me that the feature has been removed and will be available if use the apple's Smart Folio. My friend is using the cover from a local shop and the auto lock / unlock feature is working for her perfectly. I have used other models of ipad and all of them have the auto lock/ unlock feature . I have used back cover from local shops as well but never faced any issue. If I purchase the apple's smart folio cover and the option still doesn't show on my ipad , I very well know that next they will say that they have removed the feature from the ipad device. You invest so much on apple device , the most key feature is missing and the customer service is so inefficient and slow. It's nearly a month now and still no resolution. Is anyone facing the same issue as me?

Caveat Emptor.

Apple publishes explicit compatibility information for all of its Accessories. If your iPad model is not explicitly listed in the Smart Folio Cover specifications, it will not be fully compatible with your iPad.

While iPad models may appear to be similar, there are often invisible technical differences. Sensor locations, including the hall-effect (magnet) sensor (used to detect opening or closing of a compatible cover) may differ between models. As such, many current model accessories may not be compatible with older devices.
