How to fix 'An error occurred while preparing the installation' when reinstalling macOS?

i reset my macbook and now i can reinstall the macos and it says “an error occurred while preparing the installtion.try running this application again

You're trying to reinstall an obsolete OS. Sierra has been problematic lately. I assume you are booted in recovery to do this.

As prompted, try the install again. Make sure you have a strong wi-fi connection.
