Well the horrible happened to my iPhone. My iPhone fell in the toilet. Ihave the iPhone 14 Pro Max so I’m pretty sure it is water resistant. I’m looking for some pro tips on how to clean the phone without causing damage. This happened about 30 minutes ago and the phone seems to be working fine. Any suggestions?
The first thing I'd do is back up the phone while it's still working. I'd then power it off and leave it off, in a dry warm place for at least a day and hope water didn't get inside the phone. Do NOT put it in rice as that can cause more damage if the phone is damaged from its unfortunate swim.
Backup, backup, backup. Was in a hot tub when a guy realized his phone was in his pocket for just a few seconds. He thought "whew, still working". Next morning, it was dead.

Be prepare to purchase a new phone. Phone may work now but down the line it might not.
Luckily I have Apple Care +. Yea I’m mentally preparing myself for the possibility that it may have problems down the line. Honestly, the phone feels tainted now. I’ll never look at it the same. I may be due for an upgrade with my carrier
Water resistance is measured in laboratory controlled settings. Dropping an iPhone in the toilet, even for 2 seconds is not a lab setting. Just being cautious as yes, iPhone is water resistant, but that doesn't mean a a couple second swim can't damage it.
I have the 14 pro max which is allegedly water resistant up to 16 meters for 30 minutes. It was submerged all of 2 seconds
