Problem with Account and Subscription Switching

Subject: Issue with ChatGPT Plus Subscription – Incorrect Account Activation


Dear Apple Support Team,


I am experiencing an issue with my ChatGPT Plus subscription, where it keeps activating on the wrong account. I would appreciate your help in resolving this.


Issue Description:


• I previously subscribed to ChatGPT Plus on an old account that I no longer have access to.

• Later, I requested refunds for all past payments through Report a Problem, and you successfully refunded the amounts.

• After the refund, I noticed that my ChatGPT Plus subscription moved from “Active Subscriptions” to “Inactive Subscriptions” in my account.

• I assumed that this meant I could now subscribe to ChatGPT Plus on my new account without any issues.

• However, after purchasing the subscription again, I was surprised to find that it was still activated on the old account instead of my new one.


Current Problem:

• Every time I purchase ChatGPT Plus, it activates on the old account, which I no longer use.

• My previous account still seems to be linked to my Apple ID, preventing me from activating the subscription on my new account.

• The old subscription remains in “Inactive Subscriptions”, and I cannot remove it from my list, which might be causing the issue.


My Request:

1. Please provide a way for me to completely remove the inactive subscription from my account.

2. Ensure that after removing the old subscription, I can subscribe to ChatGPT Plus on my new account without issues.

3. Investigate why new purchases keep linking to my old account and help disconnect it if possible.

My Apple ID has always been the same, and I don’t intend to change it.

Unfortunately, I lost access to my original ChatGPT account, which I had upgraded to Plus. After that, I created a new profile and upgraded it to Plus as well.

The issue is that my subsequent upgrades in ChatGPT keep applying to the original account that I lost access to.

My Apple ID is linked to my initial ChatGPT account, and I can’t remove it from the subscription section. Every time, it moves from “inactive” back to “active.”

This is the problem.
