How can I reset Apple Account password?

Hi My daughter’s Apple phone is broken . Before the insurance company replace it we need to access it to switch off tracking decide. As we are unable to do that we were told to go on a lap top or other devise to access her Apple account and then switch it off this way. The problem is my daughter lost her Apple password .

we have tried every way to reset password but it’s been impossible so we had to go through the recovery process via Apple . We did this on Monday and it said wait 5 days and we will contact you .

the Apple support contact lady took my email and said they’d let me know as My daughter can’t access her emails or phone. So this was on Monday 4 days ago. Today we looked into the recovery site to see how long it is until it recovers and today it say 6 days !!!

im disabled my daughter is my carer and we are in a real pickle . I’ve spoken to two Apple support workers in the accessible team and both said keep checking back to see how long you have to wait , Then tonight I called accessible support and the guy said every time you check it resets the recovery time so you’ll have to wait another 6 days !!

HELP I’m running around in circles . Surely there is an easier way .
