I have an older version appletv and recently it has logged me out of iCloud. when I attempt to login my phone gets a verification code, but I have nowhere to put this on the appletv. I have read previous responses which says to resubmit the password with the verification code, but despite how quickly I do this it does not allow me to continue.....?

The legacy models Apple TV box unfortunately cannot use iCloud services anymore. iCloud has changed, but the legacy Apple TV software hasn’t been updated to accommodate for those changes.

You may keep using the services that do not rely on iCloud, like the iTunes Store and other remaining apps.
For use of iCloud services on the Apple TV box, you will now need a newer model: A1625 or later.
