iPad Air getting hot while using split screen

My iPad Air 5th generation is getting extremely hot while using split screen mode, notes app and only on the half side of the Apple Pencil charger. It also gets hot while charging the device or the Apple Pencil.

I tried to lower the brightness, close most of the apps and put the device on low battery mode to take it easy on the processor but it didn’t help, it stays extremely hot. The only thing that helps right now is stop using the split screen, but it is the whole point of using the iPad for me as a student (reading and writing at the same time).

What can I do? Should I take the device for a fix? Replace battery?
