Since software update 18.3, my mail app no longer shows the number of new emails I have received. I have to access the mail app to see whether I have any new emails, rather than just checking from the app screen. Does anyone else have this problem?

The solution from Rrdr87 fixed part of the problem, but the number of new messages within the mail app was still missing for me.
I got it back by going to:
mail app itself > opening the mailbox > clicking on the 3 dots at the top right > changing view from “categories” to “list view.”
Now from the Home Screen and from opening the mail app I can see how many messages I have per account.

I’ve done the change view and also changed the notification setting but I’m still not seeing new emails new emails. If I search for a specific email it doesn’t show at all. Very frustrating!
New emails are definitely not coming through.
I can’t find email in settings, where is it found now?
