Deleting photos not working

What model and year Mac do you have?

What system are you running?

How are you deleting them and from where?

If you're deleting from an album you need to hold down the Command key when you press the Delete key. Otherwise the photos will be deleted from the album but left in the library.

I've never had deleted pictures resurrect themselves, so this is most curious. So, there are more questions:

How do you "transfer photos" from your camera? Do you use the SD card? Do you run a cable from the camera? or what? Do the pictures pop up in the Photos app, or do they go to the Finder, or do you use another app to import the pictures?

Command delete sounds exactly right. That should send them to the "Recently Deleted" view. Personally, I seldom delete them from there-- I like the 30 day safety feature. There are two buttons:
