Would this be the HP DeskJet Plus 4100 All-in-One series or another HP 4100 printer model?
Anyway, a full power-cycle sequence (do not forget the Wi-Fi router) may be worth testing if a printer is not properly communicating with one or more computers/devices:
- Power off the Wi-Fi router, the printer, the Mac, any iPhones/iPads, and all other devices/computers.
- Wait two to three minutes.
- Power on the router.
- Wait two to three minutes.
- Power on the printer.
- Wait a minute or two.
- Power on the Mac, any iPhones/iPads, and all other devices/computers.
You may have to check the wireless connection as such between printer, router and Mac. Any other devices causing interference? If necessary, try to move the printer and/or the Mac. You may also want to have a look at the Wi-Fi router settings (bands, radio channels, et cetera).
