Can I turn off Face ID on a focus mode?…

Right so I get in my car and put my phone onto a charge holder.. I’ve set up a driving focus which it connects to automatically connecting to my car’s Bluetooth… Is there a way of setting this mode so I don’t need Face ID to say for example to use Siri to message someone or reply.. Many thanks in advance

iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 18

No, the phone must be unlocked to use any app that contains sensitive data. Otherwise, anyone who found your iPhone could access your messages (and everything else).

Siri only needs to have the phone unlocked for access to private data; for example, you can say “Siri, what is the local weather” but you can’t say “Siri, get directions to Home”, because the phone would need to be unlocked to look up where “Home” is.

One option is to just keep the phone unlocked by launching an app that keeps it unlocked, such as Maps.
