iPhone 15 Pro Max, iOS 18
Update from my last post regarding this issue. I have now tested as much as I could. I found that plugged in to the 35w dual charger with an apple usb c 3.3m cable that the fast charging works like intended. When on MagSafe the seems to be a slower charge rate. Might be heat related and the optimized battery algorithm and or iOS itself on how the code was implemented on 18.3.1. MagSafe and or MagSafe fast charging seems to be the main culprit in my experience. Now that Apple has gotten rid of MagSafe on the new 16e, could be a precursor to the future?

Same issue here on two different devices (13 pro & 15 plus) WITH the official MagSafe case it doesn’t wirelessly charge. WITHOUT the case it does
I'd recommend to use a MFi certified charger (MFi = Made for iPhone). It's basically approved by Apple that it works properly.
If still issues occur, maybe shutdown the phone and start it again. This type of power cycle sometimes does the trick.
i have 6 different MagSafe chargers, 3 different phone models, and various 20W (or higher) chargers that all are having problems with MagSafe charging. It shows that it is charging and then less than a minute later it cuts out. I think it is a temperature related issue with the iOS 18 updates, as the MagSafe charger always gets warmer than plugging in USB-C or lightning.
Update: I have been trying different things. One that somewhat has worked was letting my batteries go down to 20-30% before charging. This seemed to have helped and I could see the fast charging in action more like before 18.3.1. It’s not s fix nor should we even be having this discussion but in my case this seems to have worked or at least showed the fast charging on my devices.
Search for accessories that have completed MFi certification. Once an accessory has completed MFi certification requirements and is reported to Apple as sold/distributed, it will be searchable in our public database of authorized Lightning, headset, charging, iAP-enabled, and Find My network-enabled accessories.
Learn how to identify counterfeit or uncertified Lightning-based accessories.
Note that slow charging is not bad, in fact it is much better for your iPhone battery’s capacity and efficiency. Neither does it mean there is anything wrong with your iPhone or charger; it just means that your iPhone could charge faster with a higher-wattage charger.

It may be because of the new features that will take up more battery. I heard that airplane mode and low power mode make the battery drain slower and charge faster. You can check your batteries health in settings , battery , battery health and charging.
Mine stops and starts intermittently on MagSafe since the update. Battery health and charging in settings says on hold due to temperature issues. This was never a problem before this update. Tried all the usual tricks that people love to repeat as though we are all stupid. Switched off & on again. Airplane mode. Pointed the phone towards the Vatican at an angle of 36.8 degrees to the vertical for 13 minutes 27 seconds and so on. At least I can see from this that it’s not my phone or the charger.
Switch on and off again. As if the people here hadn’t thought of that one.
Well. There’s hope (maybeee). iOS 18.3.2 available. Just did it so unclear where it will take me
I checked (iPhone 15 pro) with the 18.31 update. Somewhere I found my usage statistics (I do pay for extra storage ) so might not be available to all users. But. It showed “optimal” charging based on MY usage was to charge only to 80%…. Maybe that will help you to look around your settings and see if you can locate…yours. I’m using the 45 W cable at home & still have to use a battery (ex anker) for travel to sometimes charge when out and about
My whole family did 18.3.1 update and now no one has MagSafe charging won’t work. We all have different chargers. And it stopped working as soon as we did update. Our wired works just not MagSafe. Not sure how to fix. Plz help
i am on the iphone 14 and after ios18.3 i started having problem with my iphone adapter slow charging before it was perfect and i got it from apple directly for those who are curious its a20watt adapter with the original cable from the box and its been only 7months
My 15 pro stopped charging after the update 18.3.1.
It doesn’t recognize its own battery , it doesn’t charge , it closes and opens whenever it likes, it warns me that the battery is not genuine, it doesn’t charge with anyone of the 3 apple chargers I’ve tried
